Step 1
Step one – drive away from the situation as soon (and as safely) as possible.

While it may be difficult, be polite. Ask yourself, could this person just being having a bad day and attempting to cope with it in this way?

Look away. Do not ever look the aggressor in the eye. Looking them in the eye will only make them more angry.

This is another difficult task, but slow down. Try to put some distance between you and the aggressor.

Do not roll down your windows.

Take a slow deep breath in and release it slowly out.

Keep moving. Never ever get out of your car and confront the aggressor.

Do not drive home.

If the aggressor curses at you, do not respond.

Step 10
Do not speak or mouth any words. They may be interpreted incorrectly by the aggressor.

Step 11
Drive to a crowded area. If the aggressor follows you, honk your horn or do anything you can to call attention to yourself.
