How To Prepare for the GED Online
Putting in the work to earn your GED has many advantages. It can open the door to a college education, increase your wage at your current job and generally help you pursue more educational and professional opportunities. Though the GED must be taken in person at an official testing center, many courses online can prepare you for the actual test.

Research, research, research. A wide spectrum of choices exist on the Internet for programs that will prep you for the GED. As you make your decision on which to use, consider your schedule, what your goal is for completing it and what your needs are in terms of resources from the program (can you email or call counselors or instructors; will your only interaction be strictly through the instruction template; etc.). You're committing to improving your life, so don't make this decision in haste.

Enroll in the program according to the site's requirements. Follow the study guidelines and take as much time as you need or is allowed by the program. Seek out resources: you can take practice tests at websites like 4Tests.com (see link in resource section). Sites like this provide practice tests for each one of the GED sections plus links to other helpful resources.

Once you feel like you've adequately prepared yourself for the test, find your nearest testing center through the American Council of Education (see link in resource section). Check with the facility to learn its rules about what you can and can't bring to the test and other hints on how to be prepared.
