How to Sync iPod With Winamp

Winamp is a free media player that you can use to listen to audio files that you have saved onto your computer. You can also sync portable MP3 players, including the iPod, with Winamp, allowing you to add and remove files from the player.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open Winamp.

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Library" button located on the bottom left portion of Winamp. When you do, several options will appear.

  3. Step 3

    Select "Import iTunes Database" and "Import iTunes Playlists." All of the songs that you have saved in iTunes will then be added to the Winamp library.

  4. Step 4

    Plug the iPod that you wish to sync with Winamp into the computer. The name of the device will be listed on the left side of Winamp under "Portables."

  5. Step 5

    Click on the name of the iPod.

  6. Step 6

    Select the "Sync" button that is located at the bottom of Winamp. A window will open.

  7. Step 7

    Choose the "More" button in the window. The window will expand.

  8. Step 8

    Scroll through the songs listed in the window. Highlight the songs that you want to put on the iPod using Winamp and click "Crop Selected." Click "OK" to add that music to the iPod through Winamp.

  • These steps are for Winamp version 5.5.
