Creating a video clip or movie from pictures can be done with software programs like Windows Movie Maker and Adobe Premiere Pro, but Nero Vision offers the best options. Nero Vision is part of the Nero Burning Rom software package. Along with CD and DVD burning tools, the software can create movie clips for computer use or burning.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open "Nero Start Smart" and click on the "Photo Video" icon that shows a picture of a Polaroid picture and a film strip. Under that category, click on the link that says "Make Your Own DVD-Video." Even if you are not burning a DVD, this is the way to create video files using pictures.

  2. Step 2

Wait for "Nero Vision" to load. A project screen will automatically appear, but instead of dragging and dropping the files in, click on "Make New Movie." The link is located in the upper right-hand corner of the project.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Folder" icon in the "Create a Movie" window. This icon will load an explorer window so you can select the image files you want to use for the project. Nero accepts most image formats including JPEG, GIF and TIFF. It does not accept specialized formats like PSD Adobe Photoshop.

  4. Step 4

Drag and drop the pictures into the movie time line. The time line showcases the order of the pictures so they will appear in the movie from left to right when the final project is rendered. If a picture is not in the correct order, change it by dragging it past the picture you want to switch.

  5. Step 5

Add audio to the project by clicking on the "Folder" icon again and importing a music file. Nero accepts MP3, WMA and WAV files.

  6. Step 6

Click on the "Transitions" tab located in the top right-hand corner. Small rainbow-colored icons illustrate what the transition looks like. Choose a transition by clicking and dragging it between two pictures. Repeat this for all of the pictures or leave the transition section blank to create a jump cut to the next picture.

  7. Step 7

Click on the "Export" button to export the movie as a video file. The program exports in MPEG files, but users can select other formats like AVI as well. If you want to add the movie clip to a DVD or CD project, click on the "NEXT" icon and it will automatically add to the project. Proceed through the screens to start the burning process.
