With the popularity of the Naruto manga and anime, a series centering on Naruto the young ninja and his missions and mishaps, it comes as no surprise that the Internet is flooded with RPGs based off this series. While all the RPGs have different requirements for creating characters, these are general requirements for the wide spectrum of Naruto RPGs.

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet connection
  1. Step 1

Decide if you want to use a "canon" or "custom" character. Canon characters are those from the series, and may be restricted in power or by other people already using them. Custom characters are those you create yourself.

  2. Step 2

Give your character a name. While this may be the easiest step, keep the name in line with the Naruto style of naming characters. Considering that canon characters have names such as Naruto, Gaara and Sasuke, it would be inappropriate to name your character Dave.

  3. Step 3

Decide on the village your ninja is from. Naruto veterans will know this plays a huge part in determining certain innate powers as well as allegiances to other villages and factions.

  4. Step 4

Choose from the list of elements and give your ninja an element he can draw from. Most RPGs will have you choose one initially, and when you increase in level, you may be able to choose another one. The element you choose will make you strong/weak against other elements, and will affect what techniques you can use.

  5. Step 5

Choose a specialty attack. Sometimes you can only use techniques explicitly shown in the series; however, there are some RPGs that allow you to create a custom specialty ability. There tend to be banned techniques, such as Gaara's sand or Sasuke's Sharingan, so pay attention to the RPG's rules.

  6. Step 6

Come up with a background and history for your character, along with an appearance. As with name, keep this canon with the series, but at the same time ask the RPG how characters have played out. Since this is an RPG, what may have been a villain in the series may be a good guy now.

  7. Step 7

Describe how your characters appear. For those with drawing talent, this part will be easy, as you can just draw the characters. But those without such talent will have to describe eye color, body type, and other defining features in words.

Tips & Warnings
  • Watch Naruto episodes or read manga to get ideas for your character. If you play a canon character, you are allowed some creative freedom, but not as much as a custom character.
