Dip one side of your applicator into the lighter shade of your eye shadow. Begin applying the eye shadow right above the liner that was placed on the top of each eyelid. Start the application at the inside corner and work your way to the outer corner. Apply the shadow all the way to the top of your eye until it meets the bottom of your eyebrow.

Dip the other side of your eye shadow applicator into the darker shade of your eye shadow. Apply the darker shade to the crease of each upper eyelid. For a more dramatic effect and "smoky eye" look, you can go above the crease of your eyelid.
To get an idea of where the darker shade should go for a smoky eye look, take your fingernail and press your top eyelid to feel for the top of your eyeball. Place the darker shade inside of each eyelid crease and extend it to the top of each eyeball.
