How to Convert an MPEG Movie File to WMV

MPEG and WMV files are media file formats used for storing digital media. Switching a file between formats may be desirable in some instances, because they may be able to play one format, but not another. Switching a file between MPEG and WMV is a simple process that can be done with the Any Video Converter freeware program.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Any Audio Converter freeware program
  1. Step 1

    Download and install Any Video Converter (See Resources for link). To download the converter, click the "Download" button once at the download page. Once the download is complete, click on the Any Video Converter icon created on the desktop to install the program.

  2. Step 2

    Open Any Video Converter, and select the "File," then and "Add Video Files" options.

  3. Step 3

    Navigate to the MPEG file to be converted to WMV and select it.

  4. Step 4

    Select "Customized WMV Video" from the drop-down profile menu in the right corner of the Any Video Converter main screen.

  5. Step 5

    Click "Convert" at the top of the left corner of the Any Video Converter main screen. This will begin the conversion process. Once the process is complete, the converted file can be found in the folder My Documents/Any Video Converter.
