1
Visit your local beauty supply store and ask the clerk to assist you in purchasing a braid and bond removal cream and a spray hair detangler. Choose a cream without alcohol and avoid sheen oils.
-
2
Apply the bond removal cream to the hair on the glued area. Allow to sit the recommended amount of time to soften the glue. Do not wash your hair before applying or use softening oils on the scalp.

3
Spray detangler liberally on the hair. If you hair is braided, begin unweaving the knots after massaging the detangler into the hair. Work slowly and carefully so you don't break your natural hair.
-
4
Begin slowly and gently combing the glue from your hair. Separate small sections and comb straight down or outward. Do not pull on the scalp. Continue around the head until all the glue is removed.
-
5
Shampoo your hair to remove the remaining flakes of glue. You can now cut, relax and style your hair. You can also put on new extensions at this point.

Tips & Warnings
Cover the floor with newspaper or a drop cloth around the area where you are working. Use a small-tooth comb, which makes the process longer but is more thorough in removing the glue. Having a friend assist you is helpful, especially for the back of the head.
If your hair has been locked into dreads, the described method may not work for you. Unlocking hair often requires a trip to the salon or complete removal by cutting.
