The Toyota Previa was sold in the United States until 1999, when it was replaced by the Toyota Sienna minivan. The Previa continues to be a popular van outside of the U.S. market. The 1995 Previa has a unique door panel assembly. The assembly is composed of an upper panel and a lower panel.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pliers
  • Flat head screwdriver
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  1. Step 1

Unhook your negative (black) battery cable before you get started. The Previa's battery is located on the passenger side of the engine bay, right next to the window washer fluid reservoir. Loosen the nut with the pliers, and then pull the cable from the terminal.

  2. Step 2

Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the power window control panel. Once the panel is loose, pull it off and unhook the harness from the back.

  3. Step 3

Pry off the small plastic panel right below the door handle. Behind the panel, you will find a Phillips screw. Remove this screw.

  4. Step 4

Remove the screw inside the door handle cup. Once the screw is removed, you can remove the upper door panel. Push the panel up to disengage the clips, and then pull the panel toward you. Unhook the door lock linkage to completely remove the upper door panel.

  5. Step 5

Pry off the square panel right above the power mirror switch and door speaker. Remove the Phillips screw behind it.

  6. Step 6

Pull the lower door panel from the door and unhook the two wiring harnesses to completely remove it.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Previa door panel does not require a door panel tool for removal, but it may aid you to use one. If your Previa does not have power windows, wedge a rag between your manual window crank and the door panel. Work the rag bag and forth until the clip comes off. Once the clip comes off, the manual window crank will slide right off.
