MySpace layouts with extended networks banners are extremely popular among MySpace version 1 users, as they allow them to add creativity and personalization to the standard status banner. Profiles with extended network banner features are only available to MySpace version 1 users. According to MySpace, if you signed up for MySpace after April 1, 2009, you are automatically using MySpace version 2, and you cannot switch to version 1. For those users lucky enough to have registered for a MySpace account before this date, you can make your own MySpace layouts with extended networks.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Navigate to a MySpace layout generator that has an extended network banner generator as well, such as Pimp-My-Profile.

  2. Step 2

Click on the tabs on the generator. These include "Background," "Tables," "Text/Headings," "Scrollbars," "Tweaks" and "Slideshow" to denote the specifications for your layout from the provided options.

  3. Step 3

Click on the "Graphics" tab and then either enter the url for an existing photo for which you would like to make an extended network banner and denote the width and height specifications in the text boxes provided or click on "Create One" to upload and personalize your own extended network banner photo.

  4. Step 4

Click on "Generate My Code" located at the bottom of the generator page, and then copy and paste the provided code into the "About Me" section of your MySpace profile.

Tips & Warnings
  • Browse through the variety of pre-made layouts with extended networks banners offered online if you would rather not make your own.
  • Extended network banners are only compatible with MySpace version 1; they are not compatible with MySpace version 2.
