How to Find Lost Media Files

Media files are made up of audio and video content. These files are either downloaded onto your computer from the Internet or created by you. Because the files can take a considerable amount of time to create or download, losing the files is frustrating. Luckily, it is possible to recover a lost media file.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Click on the diskgetor.com link below in the Resources. The link leads to a website that provides a program that can recover media files.

  2. Step 2

    Download the free version of the software by clicking on "Free Download Advanced Easy to Use Data Recover Software." Click on "Download Now."

  3. Step 3

    Install the software by launching the newly downloaded icon that is now on your desktop.

  4. Step 4

    Accept the license agreement and follow the remaining prompts to complete the installation.

  5. Step 5

    Launch the software. Select the drive or location where you would like to look for the lost media file.

  6. Step 6

    Click "Scan" and the program will scan the selected location on the computer.

  7. Step 7

    Select the media files you would like to retrieve once the scan is complete. Do this by checking the boxes next to the names of the files.

  8. Step 8

    Click "Restore" and the media files will be restored.
