How to Download MSN Software

MSN (Microsoft Network) is an Internet service provider owned and operated by Microsoft Corp. In addition to providing Internet service, MSN also has a variety of software applications designed to make the Internet browsing experience both fun and exciting. These include MSN Explorer, a specialized Web browser designed for those with MSN Internet service, and the instant messaging client MSN Messenger (called "Windows Messenger") in certain areas.

Instructions

1. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements needed to run MSN software. The company recommends that you have at least an 800MHz processor, 256MB of random access memory, a mouse, computer speakers and a monitor that supports an 800 pixel by 640 pixel resolution.

2. Go to membercenter.msn.com/download.aspx. This is the official web page where you can download the installation file for MSN Explorer, MSN's Web browser. Once you've loaded this page, click on "Install Now" to download the installation file to your hard drive.

3. Go to people.live.com. This is the official web page where you can download the installation file for MSN Messenger, MSN's instant messaging program. It operates in much the same way similar programs like AOL Instant Messenger do, only it adds additional features like Web cam compatibility

Tips & Warnings

• Be sure to save the installation files for any MSN related programs you choose to download to directories on your computer that you'll have easy access to. They are all small files so they should only take a few minutes to download on even the slowest Internet connections. Once the files are downloaded, simply double click on them to begin the installation process. Follow the directions on screen and you'll have your MSN software up and running in no time.
