Although HubPages provides useful features to monitor traffic sources, overall traffic history, and individual hub statistics, Google Analytics offers even more detailed reports like bounce rate, average time on site, and other info to help you improve earnings. The good news is that HubPages makes it easy for you to setup Google Analytics on your user profile.

This article will show you how to setup Google Analytics to monitor HubPages traffic in few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Google Analytics account
  • HubPages account
  1. Step 1
    Sign up with Google

    Sign up with Google

Sign up to Google Analytics by clicking the link below. It is free to use. If you already have an account in other Google products like Adsense, Bookmarks, or Blogger then use the same account to sign up on Analytics.

  2. Step 2
    Log in

Log in to your account. If you need more information before you decide to use it, click “Take the Tour” from the main menu. It will give you an idea of how it works.

If you are in Google home page, simply click “Settings” to access your Google accounts settings. Then click “Analytics” from one of the listed products.

  3. Step 3
    Tracking ID

    Tracking ID

On the Google Analytics page, click “Add Website Profile”. Type hubpages.com in the URL and hit “Finish”. You will be given a unique Web Property ID which starts with UA- and Tracking Code. You only need the Web Property ID for HubPages.

Click “Finish” and you are done creating the website profile.

  4. Step 4
    HubPages Affiliate

    HubPages Affiliate

Now go to your HubPages account and click “Affiliate Settings”. Click “Edit” on the Analytics and type in the Web Property ID you got from Google Analytics. Click “Update” and you’re good to go. It may take several hours before Google Analytics can generate reports. Until then, the status of the hubpages.com profile in your Google Analytics account will show “Not yet installed”. Take note this will track your hubs only… not the whole website.

Google Analytics greatly enhances the traffic monitoring capabilities in combination with HubPages tools in order to increase earnings. This is one of the most important aspects when you are trying to make money from online publishing sites like HubPages.
