Supplements are a great way to maximize the effect of exercise. Supplements can be used to increase the consumption of many necessary parts of a diet such as protein, healthy fats and fiber.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    whey protein

    whey protein

Whey is used as a protein supplement. Whey is a left over from the making of cheese. Whey can be added to a post workout shake or as a quick breakfast on a hectic day. Use at least one serving of whey in a shake with either milk or water depending on your goals.

  2. Step 2
    fish oil

    fish oil

Fish oil is a supplement that has been around for many years and was very popular but known for its horrid taste! Fish oil capsules had no taste what so ever but have all the positive side effects.
Fish oil is considered a baseline supplement that everyone should take for good health. Fish oil offers EPA and DHA, 1 gram of each is suitable for the average person(about 2 capsules) but several grams is useful for those who exercise(number of capsules depends on the brand). Fish oil has many health benefits including increasing the survival rate of heart attack victims, increased weight loss and preventing and healing joint pain (a must for exercisers). Take Fish oil everyday regardless of weight loss or exercise goals.

  3. Step 3
    Flax seed

    Flax seed

Flax seed is a supplement used for its healthy oil, similar to fish oil and its fiber. Milled flax seed can be added to many dishes and even protein shakes. Flax seed oil can be used in place of milled flax seed in many cases but does not have the benefit of added fiber. A tablespoon of flax seed is sufficient if taken every day but can be used more if desired.

Tips & Warnings
  • Supplements can be used for improving health; exercise and weight loss goals
  • Flax seed can be added to many foods and protein drinks
  • You get what you pay for, cheap protein powder will be of inferior quality but will still be helpful.
