Get a Business Loan Grant
Get a Business Loan Grant

Not every individual has the money to run out and start a business, or even to purchase some of the things the business needs to survive. However, the US government provides alternatives for these individuals – alternatives that can help them start a business, hire employees, or even purchase needed supplies. These alternatives come mostly in the form of a business loan grant.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out the Small Business Administration. One of the best ways of finding a business loan grant is to check with the Small Business Administration, or SBA. This highly reputed government organization helps small business owners locate and obtain the funding they need for certain situations within their businesses. While the SBA does not give grants directly, they often work with partners who do. The SBA does offer low to no interest loans for business owners that can help them obtain things they need for their business. These loans feature very low interest, and typically longer terms than a regular loan. The SBA has branches in each state as well as a website at www.SBA.gov.

  2. Step 2

Build Your Credit. In order to get a business loan grant, the business owner or the business should have at least good credit. Those with credit that is fair or poor may have trouble finding a loan, because financers do not want to risk losing money. Especially in rough economic times, it can be difficult to find a business loan grant with bad credit. Individuals should work on building their credit and their business’s credit before seeking a business loan grant. One way to do so is to monitor the credit report for negative points. It’s possible to check a credit report for free and arrange to monitor the report for a very small fee at www.AnnualCreditReport.com.

  3. Step 3

Check out Government Websites. There are many websites that offer available business loan grants funded by the government. Two sites that list such opportunities are Grants.gov & Business.gov. At both sites,
interested individuals can use the keyword search to go directly to grants offered for businesses and business owners. By checking the details, individuals can ensure that they are eligible to apply for the offered grants – and the applications for grants are available on these sites as well. It’s important to check back often as these sites take down older grants and post new ones. By creating a free account, individuals are able to easily apply for the grants they are eligible for.

  4. Step 4

gather Documents and Get Proof. In order to receive a business grant loan, individuals will need to have several types of documents ready, including LLC or Corp. paperwork, projected or real income figures for the previous six months, costs and expenses documents, proof of identity and more. By gathering these documents before applying for a business grant loan, individuals can save time and get their money faster.

By using the tips and information above, individuals can find business grant loans to expand their businesses, hire employees, purchase supplies or get their dream business started.
