Things You'll Need:
- Skipping Rope
- A pair of dumbbells
- Open Space in front of the TV
-
Step 1
fitness exerciseSet up an interval exercise routine during your favorite sitcoms so that you are doing cardio during commercials and weight training while the show is airing. Dress in comfortable clothes and do some stretches to warm up prior to starting your interval routine.
-
Step 2
fitness exerciseTo get your cardio intervals in, clear a space in front of your couch that is large enough for you to use your skipping rope. Alternate between jumping jacks and skipping rope in 1 minute intervals for your cardio during commercials.
-
Step 3
fitness exerciseTo weight train while watching your favorite shows, use your dumbbells for bicep curls, shoulder presses, reverse flies and front raises while seated. Lay down on the floor for flat chest presses and flat chest flies. Stand up for upright rows, hammer curls and tricep extensions. Start out with light weight dumbbells and keep increasing the weight as your strength increases. You should be able to do 8-12 reps of each exercise such that you begin to tire out by the 9th rep and need to push yourself in order to get through the last couple reps.
-
Step 4
fitness exerciseEnd your routine with stretching exercises to cool down. Bend over and touch your toes. Reach as far as you can and hold the stretch. Stand up straight on one leg while pulling the other foot up to your glutes with one hand. Switch legs and do the same on the other side. Do some side stretches and gentle neck stretches. You can very easily exercise in front of the TV on a daily basis if you plan ahead and commit to fitness.
