Instructions

    • 1

First of all, you need to brush your hair until it is smooth and tangle free. Then you can use your fingers to separate the hair into a two-inch section from your hairline on your forehead to the crown of your head.

    • 2

Now you can use your fingers to divide this two-inch section into three equal sections. Now you can begin braiding by crossing the strand of hair in your right habd over the strand in the middle. Now, you are ready to cross the left strand over the middle strand. The middle strand should now be the left strand.

    • 3

Try to keep the hair tight by pulling the sections away from each other and hold the hair that you have already braided in your left hand. Next, use your right index finger to part your hair horizontally, just above the right ear, from your hairline to the center of your head to form a new right strand.

    • 4

Now, take this section and incorporate it into the original right section and cross the entire right section over the middle section. While holding the hair that you've just braided in your right hand, use your left hand index finger to horizontally separate the same section of hair as in step 3 on the left side. Hold it tightly and incorporate it into the original left section. Cross the left section over the middle section.

    • 5

Now, you will repeat steps 3 and 4 with the next section of hair starting just below the right ear. Then do it again with the section hair starting just below the left ear.

    • 6

Now you are ready to begin a traditional braid by alternating the right section over the middle, the left section over the middle, and then the right section back over the middle. Continue this until ther are only about three inches of loose hair left.

    • 7

Secure the hair with an elastic band. Then spray the hair lightly with hair spray.
