-
Step 1
Prepare your tailgate party with all the essentials listed above in 'things you'll need'. Any great tailgate party always includes food, drink, paper supplies, silverware, cooking devices, and tables to put party supplies on. Be sure you bring a grill with enough charcoal, lighter fluid, or an extra propane tank for small gas grills. Prepare a list ahead of time so that you know exactly what you need to pack for your tailgate party. Mark each thing off the list as you put it in the vehicle. This way, you'll be sure to get all the supplies you need to host your awesome tailgate party. See resource list below for links to items needed for a successful tailgate party.
-
Step 2
Keep a cooler full of ice at the tailgate party to have cold drinks on hand, keep food cold, and use as a stand if needed. You may even choose to have 2 separate coolers: one for just food, and a smaller one for drinks such as pop, water, and alcohol or beer. If you use a cooler that is just for drinks, tailgate fans will have easier access to beverages quickly. This makes your tailgate party more convenient for football fans. They can simply slip their hands in the cooler and pull out any tailgate beverage they prefer without getting in the way of anyone or having to dig through food to get their drink.
-
Step 3
Bring plenty of seats to the tailgate party for all to sit and relax. Folding sports chairs are great for keeping tailgate fans comfortable and they are easy to transport since they are light and compact. Seating is important for keeping tailgating fans happy and relaxed during the party. Be sure to bring enough for everyone and extra because you can never over pack for seating. Consider how many people are going to the football game with you and add a few more chairs for those people you may invite over to your tailgate party. Many tailgaters enjoy partying together so be sure to bring enough chairs for all to have fun.
-
Step 4
Bring music to the tailgate party for fans to enjoy. You can even use your vehicles stereo if you choose, but a super great tailgate party can include a radio, boom box, or stereo with speakers plugged in to get all the fans pumped up. Some tailgaters even include karaoke during their football tailgate celebration. Create a tailgate party CD with famous football songs played during games such as 'We Will Rock You' by Queen, 'Are You Ready For Some Football" by Hank Williams Jr., and/or artists that have great pump-you-up rock songs such as ACDC, Metallica, or Journey. Find songs that you know your tailgate football fans will enjoy and download a CD or purchase one at any music store.
-
Step 5
Decorate your vehicle, table, and surrounding tailgate area with your team's logo. Celebrate your team at your tailgate party by putting up flags, football party decorations, and wearing your teams colors. You can also choose to use paper plates and cups with your favorite football team's logo and color your vehicles with your team's colors using stickers or decals. Enjoy a great tailgate party by letting everyone know who you are routing for. Showing off your team spirit at your tailgate party is a super way to encourage others to get excited for the game. When fans see how much football team spirit you have, they'll be curious about your tailgate party and excited to see you are supporting the love of the game.
