Things You'll Need:
- Wedding Dress
- Ribbon
- Chair
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
- Pattern Paper
- Hot Glue
- Sewing Ruffler Attachment (Optional)
-
Step 1
White fabric base layerMake a paper pattern for each part of the chair you want to cover. Use a white fabric for the base covering. This will be the base layer that you then add parts of your wedding dress to.
-
Step 2
A hot glue gun worksYou can use the lace embellishments from your dress on the top and back side of the chair. Cut them out separately and lay down the pattern on paper first to make sure you like it. Then sew or hot glue the pieces directly to the chair.
-
Step 3
A ruffler sewing attachment helpsThe bottom of your wedding dress is perfect for turning into a chair cover skirt. Measure from the chair seat to the bottom of the floor for length and allow extra length to create a poof at the bottom. Then take a ruffler attachment and put it on your sewing machine. It will make an even ruffle. You can hot glue the ruffle around the chair seat and cover the seam with a wide ribbon. Transforming your special gown is a great wedding dress preservation alternative.
