Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tall boots
  • Hot glue gun
  • Studs and rivets
  • Rhinestones or buttons
  1. Step 1

Take a plain pair of tall boots. They can be suede boots or leather. Even stretch boots can be embellished. Clean your boots and allow them to dry completely. If they are suede, use a suede spray cleaner and then brush them.

  2. Step 2

Gather a few studs, rivets and pieces of scrap leather, which can be purchased at hobby stores, and turn them into a flower design. Make flower petals from leather or faux leather fabric. Embellish them with studs, rivets or even rhinestones. Then hot glue the petals and a few leaves to the shaft of your boots.

  3. Step 3

Give a vintage look to ladies dress boots by gluing a line of small vintage buttons from the top of the shaft down the sides of the boots in a vertical line. This looks especially nice on white boots. You can use white buttons, silver or gold. Black buttons work well on black boots.

  4. Step 4

Black suede boots can be made to look expensive by taking one strip of sequined ribbon that is about a half inch wide and gluing it from the top to the bottom on the sides. Ladies dress boots are meant to be seen. Take them out of your closet and give them a new look instantly!

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a simple design or take an element of your outfit and copy it.
  • Tone on tone colors look the most elegant. Brown and tan with brown boots. Black with black. White, ivory and silver look good with white boots.
  • Space evenly by using a measuring tape and marking the placement.
