How Do I Make Delicious Baked Tilapia
Advancements in the farming, harvesting and processing of seafood have made tilapia a staple of American markets and freezer shelves. Tilapia is inexpensive, has a mild flavor that accompanies numerous seasoning options and works with several cooking methods, including baking. Making any preparation delicious requires pairing it with complementary flavors, following guidelines appropriate to the cooking method and seasoning to personal taste. Ingredients that complement tilapia include dill and fresh lemon. Things You'll Need
- 1 tilapia filet
- 1 lemon
- 3 black peppercorns
- 1 fennel frond
- 2 sprigs of fresh dill
- 2 tbsp. dry white wine
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper

Heat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut a lemon into 1/3-inch slices and place them in the bottom of a baking dish. Add three black peppercorns, one fennel frond, two sprigs of dill and 2 tbsp. dry white wine.

Coat the tilapia filet with a thin layer of olive oil. Season the tilapia to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.

Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it on the middle rack of the oven.

Bake the tilapia until golden in appearance, approximately 10 minutes. The filet should flake easily with a fork and have a minimum internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
