Things You'll Need:
- Old socks
- Old t-shirts
- Some art supplies
-
Step 1
Set old socks aside. These can be socks that are badly stained or those that have holes in them. Instead of throwing them away, make sock puppets! Go to your local arts and crafts store and purchase eyes, buttons, yarn, and any other materials you may need to create a sock puppet. If you really want to get inventive, make a puppet theatre out of an old blanket or sheet. Let your child get involved with this kids' craft.
-
Step 2
For boys' or mens' dress shirts that get stained from sweat or overuse, this is a great time to tie-dye it and let the younger boys in the household wear it. Another great way to reuse white shirts is to let your kids decorate them. This can be from an older sibling outgrowing the shirt and this also gives your younger children a chance to be creative
-
Step 3
Lastly, preserve t-shirts as memories and make a quilt out of them. Whether they are cities that you all have visited or favorite t-shirts, this is a great way to keep the memories around forever. This is especially great for baby clothes that your baby quickly outgrows, but you want to hold a piece of them as babies forever. A quilt can make a great holiday or birthday gift for anybody so think twice before donating or tossing clothes you or your kids have outgrown
