Fleas can be a real problem for dog owners. There are commercial flea collars available in stores, but they contain harsh chemicals. Some dogs cannot tolerate the chemicals used in those flea collars. Flea collars can also be very expensive. Why buy a flea collar, when you can make your own with natural ingredients that work just as well, if not better than the store bought ones.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy a cotton scarf or bandanna or use a piece of scrap cotton fabric that will fit around your dog’s neck comfortably. You should be able to put 2 fingers in between the bandanna and your dog’s neck.

  2. Step 2

Lay the fabric flat and place 10 drops of Rose Geranium Essential Oil and 10 drops of Lavender essential Oil on the fabric. Be sure to distribute the essential oil drops evenly over the surface of your fabric.

  3. Step 3

Fold or roll the fabric and tie it round your dogs neck. Be sure it is not too tight or too loose. If it is too loose your dog can either get the flea collar off or chew on it. Do not allow your dog to chew on his new flea collar.

Tips & Warnings
  • When you can no longer smell the scent of the essential oils, wash the bandanna, dry and reapply the essential oils.
