      Remove the padded top mattress to reveal the box springs. Set the padded mattress aside.

      Turn the box spring mattress 180 degrees so the head of the mattress points at the foot of the bed. If the squeaking does not stop, proceed to Step 3.

      Lift the box spring lengthwise to one side and remove the cover from beneath the box spring.

      Spray a silicon-based lubricant such as WD-40 onto each spring in the mattress. Lubricate the top and bottom of each coiled spring at the joints where it attaches to the frame, then replace the box spring in the bed frame.
