How to Get Movies on Your XBox 360 Hard Drive

Xbox 360 owners can download movies to their hard drives through Xbox Live. Some movies need to be purchased before they can be downloaded, but many of them are available for free. The movies are downloaded onto the hard drive for future viewing. The movies available include feature length films, television show episodes, trailers, gaming event coverage and video game strategy guides.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can start to watch a movie before it finishes downloading to the Xbox 360 hard drive. Some movies are rentals, rather than full purchases. Rentals will only be watchable for the number of days indicated when initially downloaded. The movie is deleted off the hard drive after the rental period is over.
