Determine how much time you can spend studying Hindi each day. Also decide what your goals are for learning Hindi, as in how proficient in reading, writing and/or speaking Hindi would you like to become?

Based on your answers to the above questions, search for websites with free online tutorials for the Hindi language. Try the Hindi language page of the Open of Course website (see References) that offers audio and video lessons, Hindi podcasts and other free ways to learn Hindi.

Maintain a regular schedule and supplement your online lessons by watching free Hindi films (most of which fall into the Bollywood film category), with subtitles if you prefer, at sites such as Bharat Movies (see Resources).
