Online layaway plans are good for your wallet.

Online layaway is the modern version of the in-store layaway plans. Look on your favorite online store websites to see if they are offering a free layaway service this year. Layaway plans are a popular alternative to racking up credit card debt while shopping.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • layaway policy
  • layaway forms
  • layaways
  1. Step 1

Search the online stores you plan on shopping at for a copy of the online layaway policy and the layaway forms. Print out copies of the layaway policy and layaway forms to keep in your records.

  2. Step 2

Thoroughly read the online layaway policy. Read about the required payment schedule, how often you need to make payments, and what the minimum payments are. Understand how much fees are for late payments, and what the exchange and refund policies are for the online layaway items.

  3. Step 3

Shop online for the items you want to purchase, set-up an account, and print out the layaway forms after you fill them out online.

  4. Step 4

Make regular and timely payments online until you have paid for your layaways. Keep track of all your layaway plan payments just in case there is a payment discrepancy.

  5. Step 5

Make a budget before you start putting items on layaway. Only put items on layaway if you can realistically afford to pay for them through the online layaway plans.
