How to Buy Refurbished HP Notebooks

Hewlett Packard (HP) is a leader in notebook computers, but its notebooks can be expensive, well over a thousand dollars. If you want a newer HP notebook but don't have the money for a brand new one, you may want to try a refurbished HP notebook. These are used computers with some new parts installed so that they run like new.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit your local used computer outlet. They may carry several different refurbished HP notebooks, but the selection likely will be limited. If you do see a notebook you like, you should buy it then and there, because if it sells, they probably will have no more available.

    • 2

Visit the HP outlet and refurbished store online. There you will find all the refurbished notebooks HP has in stock. If you do not see anything you like, try back a few weeks later.

    • 3

Read the specs about the different notebooks. If you see one you like, take note of the part number.

    • 4

Call the HP refurbished purchase phone number, available on the HP website. You cannot order a refurbished notebook online. (If an item is sold, it can take a few days to remove the listing.) Tell the customer service representative the part number and they can take your payment and shipment information.
