On school picture day, every student wants to take an excellent picture, because this will be how others in his class remember him for years to come. If picture day is just around the corner, be sure to keep a few things in mind to prepare. Relaxing should be on the top of your list. Stressing out over a school picture will not make the task of smiling for the camera any easier.

Be sure to select an outfit with colors that complement your skin tone. For example, if you have very pale skin, do not wear a white shirt or blouse. White will only wash out the small amount of color in your face. On the other hand, if you have very dark skin, do not wear a dark-colored shirt, because it will blend into rather than accentuate your features. Brightly colored shirts without lots of intricate patterns work best.

The night before picture day, make sure to iron your outfit so it looks crisp and sharp. Hang it up separately from the remainder of the clothes in your closet so it does not get wrinkled before you put it on the next morning.
One thing not to do the night before is to try something new. Do not dye your hair or try a new facial mask. Attempting something drastic may result in a horrific picture the next day if your experiment goes all wrong. Stick with the methods you know work and allow you to look your best.

Set your alarm a little earlier for picture day to give yourself plenty of time to get ready. This way, you can leisurely curl your hair, put on makeup, style your hair or shave. The last thing you want to do is rush. Turning on panic mode because your alarm did not go off will stress you out and likely affect your picture.

The last step is to smile. Make sure it is a natural, relaxed smile and not forced. The best way to do this is to think of something funny before the picture. This will make you grin naturally, which looks relaxed and genuine and not like that plastered-on, forced smile that never looks quite right in pictures.
