How to Kill a Mouse
When the weather starts to turn cold, mice start looking for a warmer place to live. They come into your house and make their way to your pantry. Not only do they eat your food, but they also leave their mouse droppings all over. This is not only disgusting, but it puts your family at risk for catching certain diseases (see Resources). It is best if you kill the mouse. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 4 mouse traps
- 4 small dishes

1
Investigate the four most popular spots you have seen the mouse roaming around. If you haven't seen the mouse, but have witnessed the droppings, note where. This is where you want to concentrate all of your efforts.
-
2
Press a small square of cheese on each of four mouse traps and then set them. Carefully place them in the four most popular spots. Walk away and wait until you hear the trap snap. That means you caught your mouse. You may not hear the trap. In that case, you will want to check the trap locations once per day.

3
Pour cola in four small dishes and set them in the spots where you had the mouse traps. This works if you have mice that are too smart for the mouse traps. The mice will drink the cola because it is sweet. Then they will die from the carbonation because they can't burp or relieve themselves of the gas.

Use bromadiolone poison if the mouse traps and cola does not work. The poison can be purchased from a bait supplier or from a pest control specialist. The poison comes in pellets that you can place in the four most popular areas of your house where you have seen the mouse. The mice will eat the poison and within 48 hours they will show up dead around the house.

Tips & Warnings
Keep your food in plastic bins until you kill the mice. This will protect the food so that the mice can't get to it.
Keep the bromadiolone poison away from small children and pets. It can cause hemorrhaging.
