How to Make Paper Football Players With Sizzix (c) Die Cuts

Football season is time for family fun! Paper players are great embellishments for scrapbooking the photos of your favorite players. Creating them is a good project for the gal who wants to hang out while the game is on, but needs something to do so she won't be bored! Rough and tumble football players will scoff at paper crafts, but they will love the pages you create for them. They will love the fact that you've taken the time to create a scrapbook page to honor their sportsmanship and skill! Now, let's learn how to make some paper players for your favorite home team.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sizzix (c) Die Machine
  • Sizzix (c) Dies
  • Scrapbook glue or paper mounting squares (or both!)
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Scrapbooking tools of your choice
  1. Step 1

    You will use a comination of Sizzix (c)dies to create the football uniforms and players.

    * Use your Sizzix and cut out the parts for each player in the colors of your choice. Each player will need a jersey, pants, shoes, and helmet.

    The helmet is made using a combination of the girls hair and scuba diving mask. Trimming and combining basic shapes is a clever way to create the parts you need to create your player's helmets!

    * Trim the length off the hair, and cut the snorkel from the mask. Trim the length from the snorkel, and attach to the girls hair.

    * Refer to the photos for easy placement.

    * Use a toothpick or your favorite scrapbook tool to spread small portions of glue, and assemble the helmet.

    * Glue on the shirts and t-shirts, and use a Sharpie or scrapbook markers to draw faces and numbers on the jerseys. Now, all that's left is to gather your scrapbook paper and tools to create a layout using your new paper football players, and favorite photos of your home team hero!

Tips & Warnings
  • Use good quality cardstock to create long lasting paper players
  • Jewelry bags provide ideal storage for small parts
  • Refer to the NFL Teams website for team colors (listed in the resource box below)
  • Some glues can be quite odiferous, so use adequate ventilation!
  • Be sure to keep an eye on little ones who might be tempted to grab your scissors when you aren't looking
