Macaroni and Cheese is an all time favorite side dish among family and friends. By adding Ham and a few other extra ingredients makes this dish special. You will find the easy to follow recipe in the steps below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Cups Elbow Macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 3/4 Cups Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese(grated)
  • 1/2 Cup Swiss or Jack Cheese(grated)
  • 3 Eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tbsp Minced Onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 2 Cups Milk (scalded
  • Dash Paprika
  • 2 qt. Casserole baking dish
  • Colander
  • Large Spoon
  1. Step 1

    In a med/large pot, add enough water to cover the macaroni plus 2 or 3 inches. Add a pinch of salt to the water. Boil the macaroni by following the package directions. Drain in a colander while preparing the other ingredients.

  2. Step 2

    Chop the parsley and grate cheeses, set aside. Slightly beat eggs with a fork. Finely chop the ham. Pour the drained macaroni into a large bowl and add butter, mix to incorporate.

  3. Step 3

    Add the remaining ingredients except the paprika, mix well. Turn the mixture into a 2 qt casserole baking dish. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake in a slow oven (325*) 40 to 45 minutes. Makes about 4 to 6 servings, depending on serving size. Double this recipe for a larger crowd.

  4. Step 4

    Serving suggestions: You can serve this as a side dish or main dish as desired. If serving as a main dish, a nice dinner salad, steamed vegetables and roll would complete the meal. To top it off, serve with a great dessert.

  5. Step 5

    Here are a few suggestions if your serving this recipe as a side dish:

    * Barbecued Chicken or Steak
    * Meat balls
    * Pork Chops
    * Meatloaf

    There are many more main dish ideas and I'm sure you have several of your own that would work nicely with this recipe.
