Things You'll Need:
- vodka
- vermouth
- 3-piece cocktail shaker
- ice
- olives
-
Step 1
Use an elegant Martini glass - crystal if you have it. Aesthetics are everything. Frost the Martini Glass and the cocktail shaker in the freezer ahead of time. That will make the Martini colder. Martinis are always better when served extremely cold.
-
Step 2
For best results, use premium ingredients and fresh garnishes. I have no preference for the vermouth, but my vodka preference is Grey Goose. Keep the liquid ingredients chilled.
-
Step 3
Have on hand a 3-piece shaker, strainer and a jigger for measuring. Next you should measure into the jigger 1 1/2 shots of vodka and 3/4 of a shot of vermouth. Pour both the vodka and vermouth into the chilled and ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well. Pour the delectable iced cocktail into a chilled elegant Martini glass, and garnish with a couple of olives. I like extra olives, jumbo size. If you are dieting, ladies, the extra olives can even serve as your meal, if you are so inclined. Martini olives, however, would not be recommended by nutritionists as a healthy meal replacement. Enjoy your vodka martini, "shaken, not stirred", and let your Bond fantasies begin!
