Wood floors add a beautiful elegance to any home. Over time, traffic, pets, and furniture can cause wood flooring to lose its luster. There is a way to remove buildup from your floors and restore them to their original brilliance by using a few common household items. You enhance the original color of your floors and add a nice shine with some easy to follow steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Broom
  • Dust pan
  • Water
  • Non-sweetened black tea
  • Micro fiber cloth
  • Tea Pot
  1. Step 1

Sweep your flooring with a broom and dust pan to remove dirt and debri. Spritz the surface of your floor with vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to eliminate germs and bacteria. Allow the floor to dry.

  2. Step 2

Brew a pot of tea as if you were going to drink it.

  3. Step 3

Wet a micro fiber cloth with the brewed tea. Wring out the cloth.

  4. Step 4

Scrub the surface of your floor with the tea soaked micro fiber cloth. Use small circular motions. Rinse with warm water and re-wet the cloth with more tea.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the scrubbing and rinsing process until you have thoroughly covered your wood flooring.

  6. Step 6

Go over the entire wood floor with a dry mop to remove any remaining moisture.
