Hard to read stories or options in Internet Explorer? Would it be easier to "surf the net" if the type was bigger or the whole page bigger? You can make both bigger --- and make your browsing and web searching easier --- by taking a few small steps that will make all the difference in the world to your eyes! Read on.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Eyeglasses

    Eyeglasses

See the tabs FILE, EDIT, VIEW, FAVORITES, TOOLS, HELP at the top of your screen?

  2. Step 2

Choose the VIEW tab. A drop-down menu will appear, and the words ZOOM and TEXT SIZE are in the third section of the drop-down menu.

  3. Step 3
    Emblem: Percentage

    Emblem: Percentage

Choose the ZOOM option first. You can choose the percentage of ZOOM (or percentage you would like the images on the screen) to be enlarged or reduced. The options range from a 400% increase to a 50% decrease. A "custom" option is also offered. If you click on the "Custom" option, you can choose the specific percentage the images on the screen should be enlarged or reduced --- from zero to an apparently unlimited percentage. The percentage increases or decreases incrementally by 1 percent at a time, allowing you to pinpoint your comfort zone. (Amazingly, the percentage of enlargement is incredible ---- at 25,000%, the clicker was still moving up!) Once you've chosen the ZOOM you want, the screen will remain enlarged to that percentage until you undo it by returning to VIEW, ZOOM, and 100%.

  4. Step 4
    Nikkor Zoom Lens

To change the size of type on the screen in your web browser, again, go to VIEW. In the third section of the drop-down menu, choose the option TEXT SIZE. The options you are presented are: LARGEST, LARGER, MEDIUM, SMALLER, SMALLEST. As soon as you select one, the type will change. Try all the sizes out to see which one you are most comfortable with ---choose the one that is easiest on your eyes. Again, the type on the screen will remain this size throughout your session unless you return to VIEW, ZOOM, and TEXT SIZE, and choose "Medium."
