Things You'll Need:
- Litter Box
- Dried Cat Food
- Water
- Living Space

Step 1
When planning your vacation, have an idea of how long you will be gone. This way you will know how much food, water, and litter to purchase. Self-refilling containers that can store a lot of food and water (good for approximately five days) are reliable.
-
Step 2
Fill the food and water containers to the brim. You do not want your cat going days without food.
-
Step 3
If your cat is well-trained and independent, boarding them would not be necessary (unless they need daily medication). Allowing them to roam freely around the house will make them feel more comfortable compared to the veterinarian's office. Just be sure to close any doors to rooms that you do not want them to enter.
-
Step 4
Like the food containers, fill the litter box as much as possible. You may want to have multiple litter boxes on hand depending on how long you are away.
