But getting on the show can prove to be extremely difficult as they only accept a handful of families each season. Here are some things you should know about qualifying for acceptance.

How to Qualify for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

1. Find a computer and visit the ABC Extreme Makeover: Home Edition website. Print out the official Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Family application. If you don't have a computer in your home, visit a library.

2. Make a video of your home and your family. Share work, hobbies, family activities and anything that shows you are both "inspirational and deserving." Also, make copies or take some photographs of your family and your home.

3. Fill out the application as completely as possible and send it together with your video and photographs. Note that they must be sent together and completed or else you will not be considered.

4. Fill out any and all waivers and release forms, on the chance that you are accepted. You also must be prepared and available to leave your home for one week.
