If you've had your picture taken and you think your skin looks less than its best, or you want to fake a tan or make your skin lighter, you can do so with the use of a photo-editing program on the computer. You may have to purchase a good photo-editing program or download one off of the Internet that is "open-source" software or legally free to download. You can use either a digital camera or a scanner to get your picture or pictures on your computer to edit them.
Things You'll Need
- Digital camera
- Photo-editing software
Download, install and launch a photo-editing program that has the ability to change the brightness and contrast or has a darkening, too. Blurring or "clone" tools are useful for fixing imperfections.
Get the pictures that you want to edit on your computer if they aren't already there. Scan and import them to your editing program, or get the pictures off of a digital camera by inserting the memory card in the proper port in the computer, or use a USB hookup.
Find either the darkening or "burn" function to give you a darker skin tone or the lightening or "dodge" tool to give you lighter skin. Adjust the size of the tool and the strength to get the desired effect.
Save your newly edited picture to your hard drive or on a disk when you are satisfied.
