Things You'll Need:
- Furniture plastic
- Round, soft-shaped cabinet knobs
-
Step 1
Start with the furniture. Use plastic furniture wrap to cover sofas and chairs that have fabric. Turn any low-hanging curtains into shorter curtains that only hang about an inch below the windowsill. When curtains come the the floor, the kitten likes to play with them and that can be quite an expensive mess depending upon the curtain set.
-
Step 2
Move all household chemicals that are in lower cabinets to higher cabinets if possible. This includes bleach, bathroom cleaners, and any other harsh chemical. If the cabinets have sharp metal knobs, replace the knobs with round, soft shaped knobs that are made of porcelain or plastic.
-
Step 3
Give the kitten easy access to a scratching post and trim it's nails once every four weeks. Kittens nails can grow quickly, therefore to keep the kittens nails properly trimmed make sure it has a scratching post and that you periodically clip it's nails. Be careful not to clip past the white part. If you clip the pink part of the nail, it will hurt the kitten.
