If at all possible, try to use size #1 safety pins that are 1 and 1/16 inch long. These pins will hold ten seed beads each. Open the first small safety pin and place ten white seed beads on the pin. Close the pin.
-
2
Keep your safety pins in order to create the Christmas tree pattern. On the second safety pin, place one white, two green and seven white seed beads, in that order from bottom to top. Close the pin.

The pattern for the third pin is one white, one green, one red, two green and five white seed beads, from bottom to top. The red beads represent ornaments or lights on the tree.
-
4
The fourth pin's pattern should be: one white, six green and three white seed beads, from bottom to top.
-
5
The fifth pin begins the tree trunk. Start from the bottom with one brown, three green, one red, two green, one red, and two white seed beads.
-
6
The sixth pin's pattern is the middle of the pattern. Start from the bottom with one brown, one green, one red, six green, and one yellow.
-
7
For the seventh pin, place one brown, five green, one red, one green and two white beads from bottom to top. This begins the right hand side of the pin, and the white beads should start to mirror those on the left.
-
8
The eighth pin will need one white, three green, one red, two green, and three white beads from bottom to top.
-
9
The ninth pin will use one white, four green and five white beads from bottom to top.
-
10
The tenth pin will take one white, one red, one green, and seven white beads from bottom to top to make the left side of the tree complete. The last pin, number 11, will be ten white beads.

Take your big safety pin and use the flat-head screwdriver to slightly pry apart the coil at the end of the pin. Slip the coiled loop of the first beaded pin into the large one and pull it down to the base of the large pin. Repeat this process for all of the safety pins, in order, until you have created your tree. Use your pliers to seal the pin shut for easy wear.

Tips & Warnings
To prevent the small safety pins from opening later on, use needle-nose pliers to pinch the end of the safety pin.
If you are working with younger children, you might want to help them open and close the safety pins to prevent injury.
