How to Make a Household Cleaner Using Orange Oil

Leftover orange peels can be tossed into a compost pile to mulch your garden, but they can also be used around the house. The oils in the peels have a naturally pungent odor that will freshen and deodorize when used to make a cleaner. The cleaner can be used to clean countertops or floors or after a pet accident.

Things You'll Need

• Orange peels
• Water
• Vinegar

Instructions

1. Fill a large bowl with white household vinegar.

2. Place the orange peels into the vinegar and allow to soak for 30 minutes.

3. Place the orange peels and vinegar into a jug and add an amount of water equal to the amount of vinegar you used.

4. Place the lid on the jug and shake for a few seconds to mix thoroughly. Allow the mixture to sit for one week.

5. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and use as desired.
