How to Make Greeting Cards Using Flower Seed Packets

If you make your own greeting cards, you are probably aware that there is an infinite number of ways to personalize them. Even if you do not usually make cards on your own, a greeting card using flower seed packets is not very complicated. Flower seed packet cards are a way to keep spring alive during any season. They are a thoughtful gift for gardeners, new homeowners or anyone who enjoys growing flowers.

Things You'll Need

  • Scissors
  • Two sheets of card stock, 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch (any two colors)
  • 5-inch square of cardboard
  • Utility knife
  • Ruler
  • Double-sided tape
  • 12-inch strand of raffia
  • Small packet of seeds

Instructions

      Fold both pieces of card stock in half at the the longest edge and set aside the one you want to use inside the card.

      Hold the other folded sheet of card stock so the open edges are on the top, bottom and right side. Place a piece of cardboard between the top and bottom folded sides to protect the back of the card.

      Make a 3-inch cut anywhere on the front of the card using your utility knife and ruler. Make sure the cut does not run off of the edge, because the seed packet may fall out.

      Remove the cardboard from the inside of the card and place the piece of card stock that you set aside into the card. Place strips of double-sided tape between the sheets of card stock all the way around the edges to hold the sheets together.

      Personalize your card with a written message after the glue has dried. Tie your length of raffia around your seed pocket into a decorative bow and slip the packet into the slit you created on the front of the card.
