Instructions

    • 1

Choose three bottle caps to use in your necklace. Pick a theme for your necklace, such as all Coca-Cola bottle caps, all green bottle caps or mix and match.

    • 2

Using the hammer and nail, punch a hole in each side of the bottle cap. Place the hole on each side where you want the cording to go through. Make sure the hole is large enough to thread your leather cording through but not so large as to make the bottle cap lose its integrity.

    • 3

Cut the leather cord to the desired length (24 inches is good). Lay the bottle caps an equal distance apart (4 inches is good with the 24-inch length).

    • 4

Lay the leather cord straight on a table; fold the cord in half. Place the middle bottle cap at the center point. Measure 4 inches up on each side and place a bottle cap at each point.

    • 5

Make a knot just above the first bottle cap. Thread the cord through the first bottle cap and secure it in place with a second knot. Place a knot just above the second bottle cap and continue the pattern until all three bottle caps are secured.

    • 6

Once all three bottle caps are in place, tie the two ends of the necklace together to create the clasp. You can tie it tighter to make a choker or a shorter length necklace.

Tips & Warnings

  • Feel the edges of the bottle caps - if they feel too sharp before you put them on the necklace, they might cut your skin. Try to pick the smoothest caps or use a metal file to dull the edges.
