The key to making restaurant-style salsa is using fresh ingredients. Making your own salsa is quick and easy. You can make it as spicy or mild as you want, and the ingredients are easy to find. Here is a simple salsa recipe from HowToMakeSalsa.com.
Things You'll Need
- 4 cups ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup white onion, diced
- 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed, finely minced
- 1/2 jalapeno pepper, finely diced
- 1 Tbsp. lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- Mixing bowl
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. (Add up to 1 diced jalapeno pepper, if you'd like your salsa to be hotter.)
This recipe makes a cold, chunky salsa, also known as pico de gallo. If desired, pan-roast onions and jalapenos.
Adjust salsa to your taste by adding more of any of the ingredients.
Refrigerate for an hour in an airtight container.
Serve with tortilla chips.
