How to Thank Someone for Coming to Your Graduation Party
Graduating from high school or college was an incredible achievement that required years of effort and more than a little frustration. Such an event should not go unrewarded. Of course, that graduation party in your honor, attended by friends, family and others dear to you, was an ideal way to celebrate. As they took the time to congratulate you, do your part by thanking your guests for coming.

1
Make a list of everybody who came to your graduation party. Obtain their addresses if you do not already have them on hand. If you received presents or cash as gifts, make a note of which person gave you what.
-
2
Get enough thank-you cards for everybody on your list. You can purchase thank-you cards quite cheaply at drugstores, dollar stores, and card stores. If you prefer something a little more personalized, Web sites such as snapfish.com will allow you to create your custom cards featuring your photo. You may also wish to make your own card by hand.

3
Begin by addressing each card to the person directly, such as "Dear Aunt Anne" or "Dear Max." Do not omit their names. A generically written thank-you card shows carelessness and lack of taste.
-
4
Write a short message thanking the person for attending your graduation party. Mention how pleased you were that they were able to make it and how much you enjoyed their company. Then, if the person gave you a gift, acknowledge it. It's a good idea to add a few lines about how much you like it, and how useful it will be. The fact that you may not have enjoyed the person's company or found the gift particularly appealing is quite irrelevant. Sign each card with your name.
-
5
Place each card into an envelope. Address the envelopes and stamp them. Mail the cards as soon as you are finished.
