How to Copy a Song From iPod to iPod

The ability of transferring songs from your iPod to another iPod or back to your computer has been realized with a slew of programs available to the public that copy music off the iPod and place it wherever needed. EphPod is a free program and works just as well as other programs that cost $10 and up.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect your iPod to your computer without opening iTunes in the process. Install and open the EphPod program. Select your iPod from the list of devices displayed. iTunes prevents EphPod from recognizing your iPod.

    • 2

Select the music file you want to move to another iPod and right-click it. Select the "Copy file to directory" option and choose where you want the song saved.

    • 3

Close EphPod and open iTunes. Add the file to the library by pressing "File" on the top menu and then "Add file to library."

    • 4

Connect the second iPod and drag and drop the file onto it.

Tips & Warnings

  • You cannot save the files directly from EphPod to another iPod.
