How to Kill Mold With Baking Soda
Once you notice mold in your house, it's best to remove it as soon as possible to prevent the mold from spreading. There are many cleaning products and chemical solutions available at stores that work to remove mold, but you can first try using products in your home to save money and get rid of the mold quickly. Baking soda is often used as a home remedy for removing mold, depending on where the mold is located in your house. Sometimes the mold may need to be treated with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar or it may also require an application of Borax for it to be successfully removed. Does this Spark an idea?

Apply 1/4 tbsp. of baking soda to a small cloth that has been soaked in water. Remove mold from drywall by thoroughly cleaning the area with the damp cloth and baking soda. Make sure to wear latex gloves when doing this to avoid contact with the mold.

Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down your kitchen sink drain to remove mold from the inside of the drain. Add 1 cup of vinegar and then plug the drain. Let mixture sit in your drain for at least 20 minutes. Run water down your drain to clean out the mixture.

Sprinkle baking soda over your carpet that contains mold. Allow the baking soda to sit on your carpet for an hour or more, and make sure to keep children and pets away from the area. Vacuum the area well and the mold should be removed.

Sprinkle baking soda on furniture where mold appears. Scrub the baking soda into the mold area using a brush and try to let it sit for at least three days, if possible. Vacuum the area well and the mold should be removed.

Add at least 1/2 cup of baking soda to your load of laundry to successfully remove mold from your clothes. You may need to repeatedly wash it if the mold is not removed the first time and try adding 1 cup of vinegar or 1 cup of Borax to the laundry in the washer.
