How to Paint the Outside of a House That Has Hardiplank?
Hardiplank siding is a durable home exterior product that is constructed of a sturdy cement fiber. It is well-renowned for protecting against the damage caused by extreme temperature variations, fire and insect infestation. This siding commonly survives what renders traditional wood products ineffective. Hardiplank siding is designed to be receptive to the application of exterior paint. Most homeowners are capable of adding a long-lasting finish with this weekend project.

Tips & Warnings
Plan the project around the weather. You will need at least four or five days of dry weather. Use a non-oil-based paint to cover Hardiplank siding. Oil-based paints are designed to cover natural wood products and will crack or peel on Hardiplank. Read more about this at jameshardie.com.
Use safety glasses when painting to protect your eyes from paint splatter. Do not use a power washer to clean Hardiplank siding. The pressure of the water will cause permanent damage.
