Sometimes however, if you switch teams or simply are looking for a change, you may wish to design a new look for your helmet without spending money on parts. Instructions

    • 1

Sketch your helmet from the front, back and side, or print off an outline of the helmet design from your helmet's manufacturer.

    • 2

Color your sketch with your desired design. These sketches will ensure that you like the design of your helmet before committing to painting.

    • 3

Unscrew the facemask and unclip the visor and neck guard.

    • 4

Spray your neck guard and visor with the desired color of gloss paint.

    • 5

Paper off the interior of the helmet and secure in place with masking tape. Be sure to have tape across the underside of all vents in the helmet.

    • 6

Spray the helmet the base color used in your design and allow to dry.

    • 7

Add accent colors by papering over and taping over any colors you wish to remain the primary color, then spray on the accent color and leave to dry.

    • 8

Continue adding accent colors by papering and taping over more and more of the helmet, until all colors have been applied and dried.

    • 9

Clip the visor and neckguard back on, and screw on the faceguard to complete your new design.
