How to Add a New Email Account to the iPhone

      Click on "Settings" from your iPhone's main screen.

      Click on "Mail, Contacts, Calendar," then click "Add Account."

      Select from the available email accounts (such as gmail, Yahoo! or AOL) or select "Other" if your email account type is not listed.

      Enter your name as you would like it to appear on outgoing messages. Enter your email address and password. Lastly, enter a description of the email account. This is the nickname of your email account that will be on your iPhone, such as "My Work Email."

      If prompted, enter your incoming and outgoing mail server information. The iPhone provides this information automatically for most popular email providers. If you are using a private email account for school or work, this information can be obtained from your service provider.

Tips & Warnings

  • After adding all email accounts, you can configure the general settings for these accounts---such as font size, number of new messages shown and signatures---by clicking on "Settings," then "Mail, Contacts, Calendar," and scrolling to the bottom of the screen. You can delete an email account from your iPhone by clicking "Settings," then "Mail, Contacts, Calendars," and then selecting the email account and clicking "Delete Account" at the bottom of the screen.
